Festival in the pagoda Anti

Festival of the pagoda Anti runs from 15 January to 15 Martha on the lunar calendar in the border province of Quang Ninh. Iency is the name of a mountain in 1068 m, which is 15 km North-West of Wangba, the main city of Quang Ninh province.

As you know, it was the birth place of Truc Lam Buddhist sect, founded by Vietnamese king Tran Nhan Tong 1258 – 1308. To the beautiful landscapes of Ienty very hard to reach – by the way, we encounter a myriad of streams, steep slopes, deep pits, and small winding paths leading through spruce forest to cloud top.

The first landmark on the way to the Creek where king Tran Nhan Tong on the way from the capital to mount Anti had to stop and cool off, to get rid of the dust of the human world.

Near the Creek There in the pagoda Cam Thuc, where the ruler is the first time I tasted a vegetarian meal consisting of plain rice, boiled water from a stream, and vegetables in this place.

Going forward, you can see the ruins of the pagoda LAN, where among other things there are dozens of stupas and several stell. After the path of the Elephant is a pagoda “Purification wrongdoing”, located on the river of the same name.

And pagoda, and a river are associated with one legend that says that when the Governor Tran Nhan Tong left the throne and went to mount Anti, several Royal servants expressed a desire to accompany him. Having arrived at this place, he ordered them to return home. To show their loyalty to the ruler, he jumped into the river. Some drowned and others were rescued by local residents and they then founded a religion. The result was Nyong, which is now part of the community Thuong Yen Cong. The ruler was deeply moved and organized the ceremony of “purification from unjust acts” of the dead. The pagoda was founded near this river.

Then the path leads visitors to the emerald garden, where the Main Stupa, which, apparently, is the remains of king Tran Nhan Tong. She is on a square piece of land measuring 13×13 m, and with four sides surrounded by a 2 metre walls of burnt bricks, the outer side which looks like a sea wave. In the southern and Northern walls are arched door and the road leads from the North gate to the top of the mountain and covered with large square bricks, decorated with ornaments in the form of chrysanthemum flowers and concentric circles. Behind the walls are the remaining 44 stupa 44 members of the Royal family, who led a religious life in the pagoda Ienty until the end of his days.

For the main stupa pagoda is Haaien, whose base is located on 7 – 8 meters higher than the previous one. It is surrounded by large old trees and forest aroma. It was built under the dynasty, and the head monk became later a Teacher crowned Prince. His original name was van Yen, and the new Hoa Yen – was given to him under the Le dynasty. Originally, it was a very large pagoda, which included several of the main buildings with a bell tower and a tower for drums, residential quarters for the monks and their guests, the temple Athien and others. Later it was in ruins. Modern pagoda Haaien built on the old Foundation, but it’s smaller and includes a front and back room, dedicated to the three founders of the sect of Truc Lam (Tran Nhan Tong, Phap Loa and Huan Quang). She is still considered one of the main pagodas in Anti and the center of the annual festival. Among several statues, the largest depicting Tran Nhan Tong, is located in the very center of the back of the room.

Behind the pagoda Haaien broken bamboo garden and is situated To the stupa Niang 800-year-old, ceramic tiles which over time have still not lost their color. Following the right slope of the mountain from the pagoda, you can reach the river by Godoy (where bathed ruler Tran Nhan Tong) before and after Cloud chapel (van Um), where he rested in the Lord. This tomb is surrounded by pine trees and bamboo trees located so that the rear wall she turned to sorrow, and looks towards the sea.

Next, there is a pagoda “one roof”, also dedicated to the founders of the sect Callam, which is built in a cave and it has only one roof, built outside.

From here a winding path leads to the pagoda Baosi, close to a beautiful cave with stalactites and stalagmites and a small transparent stream. To the West of the pagoda Baosi visible ruins of the pagoda Antieu, the base of the altar which was lost among old pine trees.

Near the pagoda Vantaa is 9-storey stupa, Wangtian original in structure and with pointed tip.

From here the road becomes much more difficult. Steep cliffs and deep precipices, rocks, folded in disarray at each other.

Those who overcome the path PAAs, lined with orchids, will see a two-meter stone, very similar to the statue.

They say that this statue EN Qi Xun – the man who a thousand years ago, taught and practiced on the mountain martial arts. After passing the statue, you can walk to the Buddhist stele (stele with inscriptions in Pali) and to Dong pagoda, the highest location on mount Anti. It offers views of the wide panorama of the region, mountains, rivers and settlements. Rumor has it that every time it rings the bell in the pagoda Dong, pulled together the clouds and the rain begins. Perhaps this emphasizes the height of mount Ienty that touches the clouds. Living here, you can feel that you’re completely cut off from the world.
