Read to make the world a better place!
From 18 to 20 September in the Chuvash Republic has passed the international festival of reading for children and youth “to Read to make the world a better place”.
The festival is organized and conducted Chuvash Republican youth library with the support of Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of culture, nationalities and archives of the Chuvash Republic, the Union of writers of the Russian Federation, the Chuvash Republic, the Republic of Tatarstan and Mari El Republic.
The first event of the festival was a press-conference with participation of children’s writers from G. Moscow, Tatarstan, Mari El Republic, The Chuvash Republic: Dmitry Rogozhkin, Olga Zlotogorski, Julia Kuznetsova, Robert Minnullin, Boris Weiner, Natalia Belyaeva, Sergei Pavlov, Raisa Sarbi, Nicholas Agendia, Galina Bergalis, Dmitry Suslin, Helen Bright, Valentina Silver, Ellen Nabi, Marina Karjaginii, The ILGA Onomichi.
The press conference was held in the conference hall of the National library of the Chuvash Republic. The press conference participants discussed a range of issues related to the development of children’s literature, promoting the books of contemporary authors, translation of the works of Tatar, Mari, Chuvash writers on Russian language and Russian-language authors into national languages of the peoples of Russia, on the protection of children from information harmful to their health and development, the attitude of writers and librarians to the introduction of the age of the markings on the problems encountered by writers and readers in connection with the emergence and proliferation of electronic books, the importance and role of libraries in the promotion of books and reading, the Association of writers and readers about the importance and the need to support children’s writers, libraries authorities. The press conference was also attended by media representatives of the Chuvash Republic: National TV, National radio, GTRK “Chuvashiya”, the newspaper “Sovetskaya Chuvashia”, newspaper “Tantas”, etc.
On the stage of the auditorium of the National library of the Chuvash Republic bright musical-choreographic children’s folklore ensemble invited guests to the theatrical opening of the festival reading – festival of the Book. A reincarnated fairy tale characters, the best readers of the Republican youth library in verses revealed the secret of her Majesty’s Books. The Minister of culture, nationalities and archives of the Chuvash Republic Vadim Efimov addressed the participants with welcoming speech, opened the Festival and wished the young good readers and good books, writers inspiration, and all together – the reader the joy of new and interesting books. The highlight of the concert was the performance of groups and soloists Cheboksary children’s school of arts No. 1: choreographic ensembles “Peas”, “Bolero”, darista Andrei Gerasimov and balalaika Duo Kalinka. The participants of the Festival have been 200 people.
Central to the programme of events of the festival took creative writers meeting with young readers, who have passed in children’s libraries and schools in the city of Cheboksary, Kanash, Kozlovka, Kanash, Kozlowska, Urmarsky districts of Chuvashia. The festival was held 20 meetings with writers, attended by 2,600 people.
Highlight of the festival was the presentation of the collection of Chuvash folk songs for children “Acha-PEC Sassi = the Voice of the children” with the participation of the authors of the Svetlana Lavrentieva and Irina Yakovleva, doctor of arts M. G. Kondratyev, musicologist, correspondent GTRK “Chuvashiya”, A. A. Osipov, held in the Chuvash Republican youth library. The event was attended by the leaders of the people’s folklore, children’s folklore ensembles, Director of cultural houses and Methodists from the districts of the Chuvash Republic: Ilikovskogo, Brainscope, Kozlovsky, Komsomol, Mariinsky Posad, morgaushskij, ‘skaja, Sumerische, Yadrinsky, musicologists, students and teachers Cheboksary music school. F. P. Pavlova, pupils of secondary school № 20 in Cheboksary and lovers of musical art. The event was attended by 100 people.
The festival ended with a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the Republican contest of reader reviews of books about the war of 1812 “Interesting reading”, which was held in the Chuvash Republican youth library. The ceremony was attended by Alexey Khabarov writer, poet, member of the Union of writers of the Chuvash Republic, the author of the heroic poem “to Mikulina” and legend “the Tale of the Crank.” The authors of 9 of the best works were awarded with gifts and certificates. The participants of the ceremony were invited to a literary evening on the works of authors of the 19th century about the war of 1812 “War and peace”. Of particular interest to the boys was aroused by the exhibition of pewter miniatures of the Russian and French armies from the collection of the jury member Igor Guriev – the head of the club “Arsenal-Hobbies: military simulation”. The event was attended by 100 people.
Within the framework of the interregional festival of reading for children and youth “to Read to make the world a better place” it’s been 24 events: 20 meetings with writers, 1 press conference, 1 theatrical Celebration of the Book, 1 the presentation of the new book “Acha-PEC Sassi = the Voice kids”, 1 the ceremony of awarding the winners of the Republican contest. In the events of the festival was attended by over 3000 people.
